Last month 35 women attended a training day run by Rev Malis Basha, on the role of women in the Church and at home. The teaching, which was given by 3 pastors in Juba, was gratefully received and the women requested that it be done every 3 months to keep them on track in their Christian life. One attendee said:
“I felt like I was in darkness and through the lectures now the sun of hope shines in my life. It opened my mind; this is the work the Church should do, to equip her members, especially women. If they equip the Church we will have a strong army to do the work of evangelism.”
Please pray for these hungry women to be feed faithfully from the Bible. Pray for them from 1 Peter 2:2-3 that they would grow up as they crave the pure spiritual milk: ”Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.” Pray for the women as they seek to share the good news of Jesus Christ with their neighbours and for the Church to be influential in bringing about reconciliation in South Sudan and long term stability.
